Insurance and Medicare Information
Dr. Bhat does not bill any insurance directly, you will be able to download insurance receipts (aka superbills) with appropriate medical billing codes that you can submit to your health insurance for reimbursement. If you have private insurance, the visit will be treated it as an out-of-network Doctor’s visit. It is up to the patient to deal with their insurance carriers, however we will help in any way that we can.
Dr. Bhat is a non-participating Medicare Provider. If you have Medicare, after you pay for your visit, he will submit the claim directly to Medicare for you. Medicare will typically send you a reimbursement check in 4-6 weeks. Medicare will reimburse ~80% of the visit, leaving ~20% coinsurance as the patients responsibility. If you have a Medicare Supplement plan they will reimburse most of the coinsurance cost, minus your copay.
Medicare Advantage plans can vary in how much they reimburse. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, we recommend you contact them and ask about out-of-network reimbursement of the codes above. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly with questions.
If your insurance plan covers massage, we are happy to provide you with a superbill for massage services so you can submit it for reimbursement. Please contact us or ask during your visit.
